WEEE is the fastest-growing waste stream in the world. The UK discards over two million tonnes of electrical waste each year. Much of this e-waste contains hazardous substances such as lead, mercury, and cadmium that pose serious environmental and health risks if sent to landfill. The WEEE Directive was introduced to protect the environment and human health by ensuring the proper treatment and recycling of these items, setting recovery targets for producers, retailers, and businesses. Any item that carries the crossed-out wheelie bin logo is classed as WEEE and must be reused or recycled through an approved treatment facility rather than disposed of as general waste.
Our WEEE Recycling and E-Waste Disposal Service for Businesses
We provide WEEE recycling for businesses of all sizes. Whether you need to dispose of a handful of old electrical items from an office refresh or clear an entire data centre, our WEEE collections service handles it. We are fully compliant with the WEEE Directive and registered as a licensed waste carrier.
Items we collect and recycle include laptops, desktops, servers, monitors, printers, networking equipment, mobile phones, household appliances such as fridge units and microwaves, lighting equipment, and any other electricals your business no longer needs. If it has a plug or battery, we can recycle it.
Our electronic recycling process follows three stages. First, we assess all equipment for reuse. Items that can be refurbished are given a second life, reducing e-waste and recovering value for your business. Second, anything containing data receives secure data destruction with certification before being processed. Third, the remaining e-waste is dismantled and the precious materials, including copper, steel, aluminium, and precious resources such as gold and palladium, are separated for recycling. Nothing goes to landfill.
